This is Black Pearl — my third professional campervan build and a true labor of love. Every inch was built with care, from the birch cabinets and cedar plank ceiling to the marine-grade wiring and top-tier systems. After two custom builds for clients, this one represents my own vision of a clean, expandable, and adventure-ready van

    Van Chassis:

  • Engine: 3.2L Powerstroke Diesel — reliable, efficient, and built for long hauls.

  • Mileage: 70,000 miles.

  • Transmission: Brand-new rebuilt Jasper transmission installed March 2025, backed by a 3-year warranty.

  • Fuel Economy: Averages 19+ MPG, excellent for a full-size extended van

     Electrical system:

  • Battery: 200Ah Renogy Pro Smart LiFePO battery with Bluetooth monitoring and self-heating for cold-weather reliability.

  • Solar Power: 400 watts of Rich Solar panels paired with a 40A Rich Solar MPPT charge controller.

  • Charging: 40A Renogy DC-to-DC charger for efficient alternator charging while driving.

  • Inverter: 1000W Kisea inverter for household AC power on the go.

  • Components: Blue Sea Systems fuse blocks, fuses and marine-grade wiring throughout.

  • Design: System engineered for easy future expansion and upgrades.

  • Every Bolt/Nut on the electrical system torqued to specifications

   

Climate Control & Insulation

  • Ventilation: Maxxair 4-speed roof fan for reliable airflow and temperature control.

  • Heating: 2kW diesel heater keeps the cabin warm and efficient in cold conditions.

  • Insulation: 3-season R-6 rated system —
    • 1" foam board on the floor for thermal protection
    • 3M Thinsulate in walls and ceiling for sound and heat insulation
    • Havelock wool packed into small cavities for natural moisture control

  • Fridge/Freezer: ICECO APL55 (58-quart) dual-zone unit that functions as a fridge and/or freezer.

  • Sink: Deep stainless steel sink with integrated cutting board for meal prep and easy cleanup.

  • Countertop: Engineered butcher-block surface — durable, sealed, and designed to handle real cooking on the road

  • Fresh Water: 16-gallon onboard tank for extended off-grid use.

  • Grey Water: 6-gallon portable tank located under the sink for easy removal and emptying.

  • Pump: Shurflo 12V water pump for reliable water pressure and quiet operation.

  • Shower: 8-mode outdoor shower head with 6-foot hose — perfect for rinsing off after adventures.

  • Swivel Seat: Scopema passenger swivel seat adds versatility and opens up the living space.
